Little Girls' Flower Cards

Well, hello there! It's been a while hasn't it? I had a sick kiddo for almost a week...
Poor baby :-(
...and then just couldn't get back in the "groove" after Labor Day. I'm back now, though! Ready for a simple card? You saw it above, but here it is again.
Cute, right? It's pretty easy too.

I printed a flower template from Split Coast Stampers a loooooong time ago. Like before blogging, before having my son, before buying a house...you get it...it's been a while. Luckily, the creator put her blog address on the template! I searched her blog and found it, but while I was searching I discovered a really great blog! If you like stamping/card making, you should really check out Mel Stampz

On to the card!

  • Print the template from Mel Stampz.
  • Cut out the template that is at 78%.
  • Cut a piece of paper measuring 4.25x4.25 inches.
  • Place your template on top of that piece and cut out the flower.
    • Add a little color to the edge with a darker color ink and sponge or sponge dauber.
    • Rough up the edges a little. You can view a video of how to rough up edges here (it is in English and French). I used the tool she has in the video, but I couldn't find it on Stampin' Up!'s website.
  • Punch two circles (one larger than the other--I used 1 1/2 inch and 1 1/4 inch)
    • Stamp "happy birthday" on one.
    • Sponge the same ink as above on the edge of the other.
    • Glue them together and then glue them to the center of the flower.
  • Glue the flower to a piece of complementary paper that is slightly larger than your flower. I only glued mine in the center so the petals would be loose from the complementary paper.
  • Cut the larger piece around the flower to create a thin border.
  • Glue the complementary piece completely to a piece of white card stock cut that is folded/scored to measure 4.25x4.25 inches.
  • Cut the white card stock to the flower shape, Be sure to leave part of the folded edge intact so you don't lose the fold.

  3. Erin,
Totally cute card! I so need to get back into making cards. I usually make all our Christmas cards by hand (around 60) and my Thanksgiving ones too. But I'm SOOOO far behind! We need to start a monthly card making club or something so that I'll set time aside once a month and actually MAKE some. lol wouldn't that be fun :)
    Thanks for linking up.
